The Trillion Peso March on September 21 will be held at the People Power Monument from two o’clock to five o’clock in the afternoon at the corner of EDSA Ave. and White Plains, Quezon City.
It is a Sunday. Our duty to God doesn’t cease when our duty to our country begins. Hence, I invite those who wish to join the rally to attend the twelve noon mass at the Edsa Shrine before proceeding to the People Power Monument.
We do not want the mass, though, to have the tone of protest as it may alienate other people who only wish to pray in peace.
Together, let us humbly beg the Lord to guide us in doing noble things for our country we deeply love.
Rev. Fr. Jerome Secillano
Rector of the EDSA Shrine
REMINDERS:
The Edsa Shrine wishes to remind everyone who will consider the church as a meeting place before proceeding to the Rally at the People Power Monument on Sept. 21, Sunday at two o’clock in the afternoon (2pm).
1.) Regular Sunday Masses will be celebrated at the Shrine. Following is the schedule of masses: 9am, 10:30am, 12nn, 1:30pm, 3pm, 4:30pm, 6pm and 7:30pm.
The 10:30am mass will be presided by Most Rev. Colin Bagaforo, Bishop of Kidapawan.
The 12nn mass will be presided by Fr. Jerome Secillano, Edsa Shrine Rector, together with concelebrating priests.
2.) No cars will be allowed to park inside the Shrine premises for security reasons.
3.) Church-goers with physical disability may be dropped inside the shrine premises by their drivers.
4.) Rallyists may wait at the grounds of the shrine but not at the Promenade upstairs to ensure the solemnity of the celebration of the mass. Note that rattling sounds from footsteps and any noise from above is clearly heard inside the church.
5.) The Shrine only has two comfort rooms located at the Edsa and Ortigas sides respectively. You may perhaps also use the comfort rooms at the nearby mall.
6.) Shouting of slogans or protests will not be allowed inside the church or the shrine premises. They will affect the solemnity of the celebration of the mass.
7.) The adoration chapel located at the Edsa side of the shrine will be closed temporarily for security reasons.
8.) Bringing of banners and tarpaulins is allowed. You can wave them inside the shrine premises BUT NOT INSIDE the church itself.
9.) The Shrine office will be closed temporarily. Those who wish to offer masses or have office transaction may do it at least a day before Sept. 21 or on Tuesday after the rally.
10.) PNP personnel will be present at the shrine premises to enforce discipline and to ensure the safety and security of the public.
Let’s all pray for a peaceful rally. More importantly, let’s pray that this noble cause may bring societal reforms.
See you on the 21st!
